Specialty Session: Long-Term Part-Time Employee Regulations

Plan sponsors and retirement industry professionals have had a lot of changes to understand and track over the past few years. One of the provisions of the SECURE Act that garnered a lot of attention was the provision that required plans to allow Long-Term Part-Time Employees (“LTPTEs”) to participate. Since the SECURE Act and SECURE 2.0, which modified the LTPTE requirements, were passed, there have been a lot of questions and not as many answers. However, on November 24, 2023, the IRS issued proposed regulations to start answering the questions!
