About Our Presenter

Scott Behrens
Senior Compliance Attorney and Director
Government Relations for Lockton

Scott Behrens brings more than nine years of legal experience to his current position as a senior ERISA attorney. He has extensive expertise in compliance with ERISA and other employee benefits laws, including the Affordable Care Act.

As the director of government relations, Scott frequently meets with legislators and regulators to encourage support of employer-provided benefits. He brings critical experience in public policy and politics to the role having worked for a former chairman of the Committee on the Budget for the US House of Representatives.

Prior to joining Lockton, Scott worked as an employee benefits and executive compensation associate at an AmLaw 100 law firm and was able to hone his skills working with some of the top attorneys in the nation. Scott’s previous experience has given him an intimate understanding of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, relevant sections of the Tax Code and PHSA, and other laws such as FMLA and USERRA.
