Members-Only Specialty Session: The Challenges of Uncashed Checks and Finding Missing Participants in 401(k) and Pension Plans

This specialty session, presented by Tom Drosky, Regional Vice President of Penchecks, will cover practices for participant uncashed checks given little DOL/IRS guidance. Learn about the most recent rule (FAB 2014-01), which was released last August by the DOL for missing participants. The session will cover options for both professional service providers and fiduciaries.

A box lunch will be provided to all participants

About Our Presenter

Tom is currently the Regional Vice President for PenChecks, Inc. where he is responsible for new business development and relationship management. He has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, having worked for financial institutions in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and California. Over 20 years of Tom’s banking experience is in the area of retirement services and wealth management. 

Prior to joining PenChecks, Tom spent 12 years with CNA Trust as Vice President Administration and 11 years with First Bank as Regional Vice President and Trust Officer responsible for retirement services.
Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Western Pension & Benefit Council's Orange County Chapter.

As an adjunct professor for over 27 years at the University of Phoenix, Tom is the Lead Faculty/Area Chair for Finance, Southern California Campus.  He has also taught as an adjunct professor of graduate and undergraduate finance at The University of La Verne, University of Redlands, DeVry Keller Graduate School, and Argosy University.

Tom holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and an M.B.A. in Financial Management from National University.

This program is designed to qualify for Colorado Continuing Professional Education.
